Are you passionate about history and enjoy working with young people? Join our team of education volunteers and help bring the past to life!
During the school terms, the Museum has school groups attending the Museum who learn about history by participating in archaeological digs or mummification.
During the school holidays the Museum offers a series of workshop-based weeks that are based on historical themes, for example Ancient Egypt, the Vikings, Ancient Rome.
You would be assisting with helping the children as well as setting up and packing away the program equipment, e.g. helping with the archaeological dig.
The Museum provides the necessary training for our education volunteers. We are looking for volunteers who are happy to present, share knowledge and engage with students to inspire a love of history and learning.
Blue cards will be required before the commencement of activities with children. We can assist with this process.
Preferably 1 or 2 days per week. Hours and days are flexible and negotiable.
Training will be provided for all volunteers for the purposes of their duties.
