Council provides a range of valued services and programs which impact the daily lives of Ipswich residents and ratepayers.

Volunteering helps to build and create communities, develops people’s skills, strengthens networks and provides a sense of belonging and connection. Recognising the unique talents, skills, knowledge and experience that volunteers contribute, Ipswich City Council engages more than 200 volunteers across a suite of programs and activities in the following areas:
- Tourism and Events
- Environment including Bush care, Environmental Education Centre, and Ipswich Nature Centre,
- Community service including Libraries
- Arts and Culture
